How To Create An Affordable And User Friendly Landing Page

Creating a landing page shouldn’t have to be rocket science

By Cassandre Pierre

Have you ever wanted to make your own cake? To make a cake you need certain ingredients and you can’t skip any steps or leave out any required ingredients.  That means you have to preheat the oven,  measure and mix all your dry and wet ingredients precisely and you’ll need the right pan and, of course, a timer. If you don’t follow these steps and have all of the right tools, you’re cake might not fulfill your expectations.

Your probably thinking, what the heck does that have to do with a sales funnel?

                   Everything!

You see, just like making a cake, when  you are creating your sales funnel, you need to have the right tools, understand why you need them, know when to use them and what the end result your trying to achieve is.

“To build a long-term, successful enterprise, when you don’t close a sale, open a relationship.” – Patricia Fripp

Like most newbies you’re probably easily overwhelmed with all the tasks on your to do list. One of those tasks may be creating a sales funnel.

But where you even start with a sales funnel?  A landing page is the first step.

What is a landing page?

According to the dictionary

land·ing page

noun: landing page; plural noun: landing pages

  1. the section of a website accessed by clicking a hyperlink on another web page, typically the website’s home page.

In real life, it’s a single page on your website with the sole purpose of leading potential and recurring customers to your products and or services.

Why do you need a landing page?

You need a landing page for the obvious reason of making a sale, but more importantly you need a landing page to introduce your audience to your new offer.  This might be your new course, e-book, or an intro to services you may provide that are exclusive to your audience.

What  Are The Different Types Of Landing Pages?

The most common types of landing pages used by bloggers or small businesses are the following:

Opt-In:

This is used when you want to provide a free product or content upgrade to gain more subscribers.

Tripwire :

A tripwire is used for the purpose of converting your email subscribers into buyers. You would promote a low price limited time offer immediately after they have signed up for your email list.

Sales Page :

If you currently have a new course or service that you’re offering this will be the ideal page to display it on.

Thank You :

You want to use this at the end of all of your landing pages especially after a purchase. This let’s your buyer know that their order was submitted successfully.

E-book:

This is ideal for authors or for promoting a complimentary e-book that you may offer with your course or service.

So, just like I mentioned earlier about how important it is to have all the right ingredients for making a cake, having a stellar landing page is an important ingredient in your sales funnel (cake). Without it you might get a  funnel (cake) that doesn’t rise to your expectations.
